Manresa Water and Textile Museum Ticket
Museu de l'Aigua i el Tèxtil de Manresa
Want to discover the development of the textile industry that shaped Catalonia from the late Middle Ages to the present day? The Museu de l'Aigua i el Tèxtil de Manresa is a must. Just a few minutes from Montserrat, this museum will take you through the history and evolution of the Catalan textile industry in a way you've never imagined. Did you know Manresa was once an international benchmark?
Inaugurated in 1992 inside the city's water tanks, the museum houses 2 permanent exhibitions exploring both the importance of water's arrival in the city through the construction of the Sèquia de Manresa, and the evolution of the textile industry throughout history.
You'll see period machinery in perfect working condition and learn about the history of the Sèquia de Manresa, an impressive 26-kilometer (16-mile) canal built in the 14th century to bring water to the city. It's still in use today!
You'll also discover the history, uses, and distinctive character of Manresa's most iconic textile tradition: ribbon-making. A cultural experience unlike any other, and suitable for the whole family.
